With my boys at a Monster Truck Show in Baltimore I decided to bypass doing the laundry and update here instead.  Schools out for the Summer.  End of the year School videos and scrapbooks, luncheons, picnic etc. have taken up some free time but we will miss school friends this summer- Boyd's already talking about his next school day.  He enjoyed being in the Dragonfly class and keeps saying he wants to be a Dragonfly forever.    Enjoy a few pictures.

Rice shakers. Plus Boyd in some dress up clothes which he wore every school day all Spring while at school.
Waiting to load the bus to visit the zoo.  There was a motorcade on the drive so Boyd was thrilled to see so many police vehicles.
 Watching the Seals.
 To the elephants!
Boyd in his school dress up outfit.
Boyd's first crush, Allison, one of his teacher's daughter.
On a shopping trip at Target Boyd announced, 'Mom, we have to get nail polish." I have never worn nail polish since Boyd has been alive so this was quite out of the blue.  He picked a mermaid looking sea green/blue color and was a very impressive nail tech.
Getting so big.  I teased him about his mop hair and we recently got a trim.
After our nails, time for some football.
 Love this face.
He throws quite the spiral. Honestly.
Boyd's scrapbook pages for his teachers. Be sure to read his commentary.
Boxing with the neighbors in boxing attire I guess.
Racing in Mizuno's. For the record I do not start in blocks.  Love this1
Chocolate Grandma came for a nice visit.  She and Boyd spent lots of good time together and at this moment enjoyed a little Vampire play.
Old timer Firefighter.

Boyd never fails to pick up on things, ask questions, and add in his two cents worth daily. The wheels in his brain never stop churning. Therefore, these weeks post Boston marathon have been a little rough for us as a family.  When I was finally able to call him while I was in Boston he told me first thing, "Mommy there were two explosions." Then he repeatedly told me, "I love you Mommy."  I assured him I was safe, that I loved him too, and we said a prayer for those who were hurt or scared.

When I got home he asked me multiple times, "Mommy when are you going to die?" He told me, "I don't want to die, I want to live forever." "I don't want you to die." "When are you going to die."  This was tough for me as I struggle/struggled through the stages of grief.  The only thing I could respond was, that is why we believe in God, so we can live forever.

Boyd, I wish I could protect you and our family from all the wrong, harm, and hurt in the world but I can't.  So I pray that you have to strength to overcome, to find acceptance in unimaginable situations, to get up stronger every time you get knocked down, and to live each day with love.

More bounce house action.
Boyd and Noah.  Hmm think Boyd was taking it easy? I put the camera down seconds later because he was standing and trying to surf as Noah pulled him- yikes.
